FEAST food festival takes over The Place rooftop next weekend
Social Supply’s home-grown food and drink festival returns the first weekend this month with a killer line up of (mostly) Shanghai’s own all-star chefs and bartenders. At this instalment of FEAST, you’ll have the chance to check out offerings from super talented chefs while enjoying crafted cocktails from some of the city’s best bartenders.
It’s all happening on the rooftop terrace of The Place in Huangpu, which means you get to chill out in an urban garden amidst some totally stunning views and stellar tunes. An afternoon dedicated to eating and drinking yourself silly while swaying to a curated list of beats from some of Shanghai’s cult favourite DJs? Sounds like a pretty sweet deal.
This year’s all-star group of chefs includes Juan Campos (Raw Eatery and Wood Grill) Beth Cosgrove (Alan Wong’s Shanghai), Paul Eschbach (Jean-Georges and Mercato), Danyi Gao (Shake), Jenny Gao (Fly by Jing), Julio Gomez (Tomatito), Kim Melvin (Commune Social), Carlos Sotomayor (elEfante) and Simon Sunwoo (Cobra Lily). In the booze department, try stellar cocktails from bartenders Daniel An (Taste Buds Cocktail Palace and Shrine), Raphael Holzer (Hong Kong's Yardbird and Ronin) and Colin Tait (Shake and Heyday).
Should you need more than great cocktails to wash down all the delicious things you’ll be eating, find speciality coffee by Ocean Grounds and wines from CWS. New to this edition of FEAST is a craft beer garden, featuring Song Craft Beer, Goose Island and Moody Tongue’s ‘culinary beers’, as well as a wacky Iron Chef-style live cooking competition between select chefs at the feast.
FEAST The Place. 457 Jumen Lu. 6-7 May. Midday-8pm. Tickets are 80RMB; 50RMB per day or 90RMB for both days (presale). Click 'read more' below to buy tickets.
